Last Month’s Meeting

Last month Dr. Joe Barnhart spoke to our group for with a talk entitled "Philo, Logos, and Sophia." Dr. Barnhart is a prolific writer and well known amongst humanist circles. We even had a couple of folks who stayed to hear the talk even though they had they come to First Jefferson for another meeting!

Who’d A Thunk It!

As the chair of the Humanists of Ft. Worth I must admit there have been times when I wondered if we should be tackling the adopt-a-street project. Well, I found myself extremely pleased when several folks showed up to help clean our spot on Granbury Road.

Helping to clean the spot were Mike Haney, Laura Blessing, Gayle Elleven, Bruce Berggren, Brenda Baldwin and Leah Robinson.

I must say too that we made quite a difference. Several cars honked to show their appreciation. One homeowner came out to shake our hands and let us know what a good job we were doing. And the breakfast at Denny’s afterwards was a great way to get to know our colleagues.

In my opinion, September 16th was a great day for our group!
