BIG OL’ NOTICE

#1

Until further notice the Humanists of Ft. Worth will be meeting at Westside Unitarian Universalist Church.

There was just too much construction on the room we used at First Jefferson. We are, of course, happy that First Jefferson is able to renovate that portion of their building. However, meeting in the foyer was not very conducive to our meetings. Hopefully this change of venue will not deter any of you from attending our meetings!

Now how do I get

to the meeting?

Westside Unitarian Universalist Church is located at 6901 McCart Avenue in Ft. Worth. A map to the location is provided on our website. Anyone needing assistance to the meeting should contact Russell.

BIG OL’ NOTICE

#2

Mark your calendars now for Sunday December 17th. We are declaring December 17th Humanist Day! There will be two events on this very special day.

First, we will meet to do our second cleaning of our adopt-a-street program on Granbury Road. Our first cleaning of the spot was very successful. We must clean our spot at least four times each year. Our last cleaning was September 16th.

Second, we have been invited to take part in the Winter Solstice Party hosted by the Metroplex Atheists. The event will take place in Weatherford and we are asked to bring our choice of beverage. The North Texas Skeptics will also be in attendance. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to mix and mingle with other similar minded folks. For pictures of prior parties see:

Last Month’s Meeting

Dr. Gregg Franzwa joined us to talk about "The Churches of What's Happening Now: Sociobiology and Cognitive Science." Dr. Franzwa is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department at TCU. His presentation was well received and thought provoking!

The Humor File

A Woman went to the Post Office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards. "What Denomination?" Asked the clerk. "Oh, good heavens! Have

we come to this?" said the woman. "Well give me 50 Baptist and 50 Catholic ones."
